About Me

Student Counselor | Using authenticity and empathy to deal with life’s stressors

I’m Suhayla, a practicum student who believes that therapy can be useful for everyone if they are willing. Whether you need help with self-awareness, dealing with depression, coping with maladaptive choices, strained family dynamics, or anxiety, I’m here to help. I work from an empathetic but realistic perspective to get you to the be the most productive version of yourself.

I provide a space where clients can feel relaxed, heard, and motivated to grow. Our sessions will be a mixture of introspection, deep conversation, and problem-solving with a tinge of laughter, factual references and relatability. Outside of the office I’ll usually be taking a trip, getting massage therapy, watching documentaries, and posing for a photo (I love any reason to dress up).

If you are willing to start your journey towards a better you , want to obtain more desirable outcomes, feel free to reach out to me. No pressure, I’ll be here once you’re ready.

Therapy Style: Relaxed, empathetic, and result-driven
Superpower: Helping people with self-realization & using their unique capabilities/traits to their advantage
Vibe Check: : Down-to-earth, genuine, and can make you laugh if needed

Fun facts: I studied 4 languages outside of English (Arabic, Spanish, Japanese, and Italian) and I used to be a Japanese tutor some years ago. I’m also an amazing chef.
